Method
- In a large pot, cook ground meat over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add onion and garlic; sauté until softened, 3–4 minutes.
- Stir in beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low. Cover and cook 30–40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Serve hot with optional toppings.
